& Josh Smith.
Plus, come early — 6:30 — for a talk by special guest Michael Callaghan, publisher of Exile Editions!
Michael is a publisher, editor, and book designer; a videographer and digital editor producing book trailers, interviews and events; an exhibiting painter/visual artist. With his wife, Gabriela, he runs Exile Editions (publisher of over 450 books of fiction, poetry, translations, nonfiction and drama) and Excelsior Publishing (ELQ/Exile: The Literary Quarterly, which is closing in on its 150th issue), both of which are family businesses, balanced by his father, Barry, Editor-in-Chief and founder of both houses in the early 70s, and mother, Nina, general manager and copyeditor. His bedrock passion in publishing is in seeing, through publication, young and emerging writers finding their place among Canadian voices, and in tune with that, giving them a first entrance to the literary scene via the $15,000 Carter V. Cooper/Exile Short Fiction Competition, sponsored by Gloria Vanderbilt.
